Pike's Ridge Campground

Pikes Ridge Campground is a popular campground for those wanting to stay right on the water’s edge. Quite a few of the campsites border the lake to provide easy access for boating or fishing. Some of the sites feature boat docks to tie a boat to. Other sites such as those in the area commonly know as Camper’s Cove, provide campers with a secluded cove just off the main lake. The cove is perfect for those who enjoy boating and would like to leave their boat in the water and have easy access to it from their campsite.

Pikes Ridge Campground is run by the US Army Corp of Engineers. It offers 60 campsites total, with 15 offering electric and water hookup. Since some of these sites are right at the waters edge, flooding of some campsites may occur during high lake levels. While the campsites close to the water have very few shade trees, some sites are nestled in wooded areas providing all day shade from the hot summer sun. Most every campsite is level and spacious, with fire pit/grill, picnic table, and a lantern post. Most sites are back in style, but pull thru sites are also available at various locations throughout the campground. There are no showers available, but pit and portable toilets are provided in multiple areas of the campground. Potable water for primitive campers is available at a centrally located hydrant. Campsites are available for reservation thru ReserveUSA.com.

The campground has all paved roads, with gravel parking for the campsites. There is also a multiple lane boat ramp with courtesy dock included in the campground. An attendant is stationed at the entrance of the campground for check-in/check-out services and Park Rangers or other law enforcement patrol the campground for security. Though not part of the campground, a convenience store offering camping supplies, drinks, ice, and firewood is located just up the hill from the campground entrance.

Activities inside the campground include playground equipment, hiking trails, and a sand beach for swimming. There are large open areas in the campground that can be used to play football, horseshoes, or just pass a frisbee back and forth. These large open areas seems to split up the campground to provide a more open, spacious layout to the campsites
