Green River State Park

The State Park Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds on Green River Lake. The campground offers something for everybody with it’s wide assortment of activities. It isalso the largest campground on Green River Lake.

The campground offers both primitive tent sites and electric and water hookup sites for RV’s and travel trailers. Offering over 100 campsites, the park can accommodate quite a few campers before filling up. Bath houses with showers and restrooms are also available to campers. Some of the campsites are waterfront, providing a wonderful view of the lake and easy access to your boat as you can beach your boat right in front of your campsite.. There are some maturing trees scattered thru the campgrounds providing shade for those hot summer days. A small convenience store is located at the campground entrance. The store offers ice, groceries, camping supplies, maps, toys, and other last minute “forgotten” items.

Green River Lake State Park also has a multiple lane boat ramp with courtesy dock. For those who wish to boat without staying in the park, there’s a large parking lot designed for vehicles and trailers. The ramp and parking area is large enough there are fishing tournaments often held from this ramp. If you are camping at the park, there is another single lane ramp at the far end of the campground for use with smaller boats.

There are many activities located within the State Park Campground. There are approximately 28 miles of trails for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. There’s also playground equipment, a basketball court, miniature golf course, and a sand beach for swimming. There’s even an airport for remote controlled airplanes located at the entrance of the park. At various times thru the year there may also be car shows, concerts, or seasonal festivities held at the park. There is also a large picnic shelter located on a point overlooking the lake for day use visitors..

Green River State Park also accepts reservations thru Reserve America. As sites fill up fast on holiday weekends, reserving your favorite site ahead of time will give you a little peace of mind knowing you will have your favorite site instead of just taking what’s left.
